We have a 2 person paddle boat, three kayaks and a row boat on the island for exclusive use by our guests to explore the many quiet bays of the lake. There is a second lake adjoining ours that can be accessed by kayak portage for the more adventurous individuals offering great pike fishing. As the cabin is on an island, we're secluded from furry bear-like creatures so this is not of concern to those with "bearanoia". This is a peaceful place, so we hope that our guests come in seek of solitude, but also do their part to preserve it. On the North side of the property or front is a large yard with sitting areas, parking areas, and a municipal park directly in front of the property -- just across the street. The apartment is large (approximately 1200 square feet) with lots of open space in the dining/living/kitchen areas. The bedrooms are nice and spacious. The community is an older well developed neighborhood mostly consisting of apartment buildings and some single family homes. It is a 7 min drive to the airport or downtown, and 13 min to the Dimond Center. This bright and spacious mother-in-law suite is unit two of an above and below duplex. It has its own front and back entrance with stairs on both, plenty of windows to let the natural light in, one bedroom with one Queen bed, one bathroom, living room with a large comfortable Queen futon, full open concept kitchen and stocked laundry room. There is light noise from the unit upstairs, but quiet usually between the hours of 8pm-7am. This apartment sleeps 4 on two queens. There is a large backyard with a creek between our neighbors. House is convenient for late night arrivals or early morning airport departures, north and south bound adventures or simply relaxing and enjoying Anchorage and all it has to offer. We are within walking distance to one of Alaska's most know popular coffee shop, Kaladi Brothers. You should stop by and try some of their locally roasted coffees and espressos. Kincaid Park is just down the street and is a great city park with endless hiking and biking trails. You may even encounter moose or bear there while walking through the woods or if you can find it the hidden beach trail. Either way the sights will be amazing.
